Linked News
The Fixed Story Number (FSN) feature enhances user experience and makes usage of TickerNews stories more interactive. The feature makes use of the new concept of regular stories having a fixed ID or number.
TickerLinks are embedded in keywords that are highlighted in blue and underlined in text of stories. A related story will open up by clicking on these highlighted words in MarketView
For example in the Nov 15 story "TNS FM sees inflation easing to 6% by Mar, says won't prejudge RBI steps", a related story will open by clicking on the highlighted word in the following sentence in the story: Government data showed India's annual inflation rate eased a tad to 8.58% in October from 8.62% in previous month though prices of food, minerals and fuel remained firm.

Above, a particular TickerNews headline assigned a fixed NEWSID i.e. 425220 is linked to the hyperlinked term inflation signifying related news tagged to the term. The particular news headline can also be searched subsequently in the TickerNews window with the help of the assigned NEWSID and specifying the date parameters as applicable.
In stories that have many related stories, a separate section, called TickerLinks, will be added after the end of the story. TickerLinks will provide keywords or headlines that will open the stories when clicked.

E.g. On click of the news headline highlighted above, the respective news detail window opens

In the above TickerNews detail window, on click of the link the relevant news related to the particular topic would be available to the user.
On click of link 1913, TickerNews headlines related to India FX – Opening are seen in a separate window. Respective news details can be referred on click of the headlines generated.

Note : In addition to being able to refer the news details for the respective headlines generated for FSN 1913, the user also has the option to create a ‘FILTER’ specific to a FSN number by mentioning the FSN number under the ‘Filters’ tab for TickerNews. As required, the user needs to provide a name to the filter created.
